Privacy & Cookie Policy
Introduction
This notice describes how we process the personal data of visitors to the website www.antarainitiative.com and of anyone who contacts Antara using the contact details given on the site. It is provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter "GDPR") and applicable Italian law, including Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018.
The site is purely informational: it contains no registration forms, private areas, newsletters, analytics tools, advertising or embedded third-party content.
Data controller
The data controller is ANTARA INITIATIVE SUARL, tax ID (M.F.) 1899794V/A/M/000, with its headquarters at Rue de Syrie, Tunis (Tunisia) and operational offices in Rome, Viale Beethoven, and in Djerba, Rue Farhat Hached.
For any questions about this notice or the processing of your data, you can write to segreteria@antarainitiative.com.
Data processed
The site processes only two categories of personal data.
- Browsing data. As with any website, the computer systems that run the site collect certain technical data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet protocols: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, server response code, browser type and operating system. This data is not used to identify visitors to the site and is recorded in the server logs for the security and proper functioning of the service.
- Data provided voluntarily. If you write to the email address or WhatsApp number given on the site, we will process the data you choose to share with us: your name, contact details and the content of your message. Please do not send us special categories of data (for example data concerning health or political opinions) unless they are strictly necessary for your request.
Purposes and legal bases
We process data only for the following purposes, each with its own legal basis under Article 6 of the GDPR.
- Operation and security of the site (browsing data): enabling pages to be viewed, preventing abuse and cyber attacks, and investigating possible computer crimes. Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in ensuring a secure, working site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Responding to contact requests (data provided voluntarily): replying to messages, arranging appointments and providing the information requested. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and, for general enquiries, our legitimate interest in replying to those who write to us (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Legal compliance and protection of rights: complying with legal obligations and, where necessary, establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
The data is not used to send promotional communications, is not subject to profiling and is not subject to automated decision-making.
Whether providing data is mandatory
Browsing data is necessary for the technical operation of the site. Providing data when you contact us is optional: without it, however, we would be unable to respond to your request.
Processing methods and security
Data is processed electronically by authorised and trained persons, with appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. The site is served exclusively over HTTPS, with an encrypted connection, and applies security restrictions that prevent external resources from being loaded.
Recipients of data
Data is not disseminated or transferred to third parties. It may be disclosed only to:
- Antara staff authorised to process it;
- the providers of the site's hosting and email services, who act as data processors under Article 28 of the GDPR and process the data only in accordance with the controller's instructions;
- public authorities, where disclosure is required by law.
If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, the service is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Meta group), which processes the data as an independent controller in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Transfer of data outside the European Union
Antara's headquarters are in Tunisia, a country outside the European Economic Area for which the European Commission has not adopted an adequacy decision. When you write to us, your data may therefore also be processed by the Tunis office.
This transfer takes place only to the extent necessary to respond to your request or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 49(1)(b) of the GDPR), or on the basis of appropriate safeguards under Article 46 of the GDPR, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can request information about the safeguards adopted by writing to segreteria@antarainitiative.com.
Data retention
- Browsing data: kept in the server logs for as long as strictly necessary for security purposes and in any case for no longer than 12 months, unless it is needed to investigate offences at the request of the judicial authorities.
- Data provided voluntarily: kept for as long as necessary to handle your request. If a professional relationship results, it is kept for the duration of that relationship and, after it ends, for the periods required by law (for example ten years for civil-law and tax obligations).
Your rights as a data subject
At any time, under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access: find out whether we process your data and obtain a copy of it;
- rectification: correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data;
- erasure: obtain the erasure of your data, in the cases provided for by Article 17;
- restriction: request that processing be restricted, in the cases provided for by Article 18;
- portability: receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format;
- objection: object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise your rights, write to segreteria@antarainitiative.com. We will respond without undue delay and in any event within one month of the request, a period that may be extended by two months in more complex cases, as provided for by Article 12 of the GDPR.
Complaints to the supervisory authority
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of the Member State in which you habitually reside, work or where the alleged infringement took place.
Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in the visitor's browser to remember information or track browsing. Together with similar tools, such as localStorage, they are governed by Directive 2002/58/EC, Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and the Italian Data Protection Authority's Guidelines of 10 June 2021.
This site does not use cookies, whether technical, profiling or third-party, and does not store any information on your device by other means. In particular, it:
- does not use statistics or visitor analytics tools;
- does not display advertising and does not use pixels or tracking systems;
- does not embed third-party content, such as maps, videos or social network buttons: fonts, images and maps are loaded directly from our server.
For this reason the site does not display a cookie consent banner: there is nothing to accept or reject.
Links to external services, such as WhatsApp, lead to sites with their own cookie and privacy policies, which we invite you to consult. In any case, you can manage or delete cookies from any site in your browser settings.
Minors
The site is not intended for children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe that a minor has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice, for example following changes in legislation or new features on the site. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. Should the site ever use cookies or tools that require consent, we will ask for it before enabling them.
